Why have I taken on the name DirtMedic? I have been involved with EMS since 2000.  I started as a volunteer firefighter in our community of Lake Lindsey and Istachatta, then in 2002 went to work professionally as a Firefighter/EMT for Pasco County, then I moved closer to home and began work in 2006 for Hernando Fire Rescue as a Firefighter/Paramedic.  In the spring of 2012 I purchased a 2012 Suzuki DR650 to save money commuting to work over driving my fuel guzzling F350 diesel.  What I found was that the little dual sport motorcycle opened a whole new world to me. It started as a way to save money, but evolved into a hobby that I really enjoy. So… I am a paramedic and I ride a street legal dirt bike, DirtMedic it is. This page is about my riding adventures, the hiking, camping, canoeing adventures I have always done, emergency medicine, and some guns and politics thrown in for variety.  You will also find some of my random thoughts that probably don’t fit any category.  Enjoy.

I can always be contacted directly at Harbig@hotmail.com.

Hi Chris! Nice blog you have here. I ended up getting a bike as well, but not like yours. It’s a MTB. Ha Ha! Yes, mine you have to “peddle!” It’s turned into a hobby for me as well. I’m getting addicted! 😉 I will take the weight loss that comes along with it. 🙂

  2. Riding dual sports is the ultimate in fun!! Glad you fell in love with it too. The minute you get on one it changes your whole perspective! Happy Riding 🙂
